Job summary

Jacksonville State University is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Chemistry and Geosciences department. The TA will teach and assist in labs for Physical Geography I/II, Physical Geology, and Historical Geology, with approximately three labs per semester and about twenty hours of grading and prep.

Applicants must be degree-seeking graduate students at JSU, actively enrolled, and capable of independent work.

Qualifications

• Must be a degree-seeking graduate student at JSU.
• Must be actively enrolled in a JSU graduate program during the assistantship semester.
• Must be admitted to a degree program if new.
• Must be enrolled in required coursework toward the degree.

Responsibilities

• Serves as lab instructor.
• Assists in logging and processing course materials and assignments.
• Assists in research-related tasks using library and online sources.
• Supports faculty and lab supervisor in lab prep and cleanup.
• Performs clerical and related duties as assigned.
