Job summary

MSA Professional Services in Baraboo, Wisconsin, is seeking a Graduate Engineer - Transportation to support roadway and intersection improvements. You will work with experienced engineers from planning through construction, gaining hands-on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and transportation modeling tools.

The role emphasizes collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, public engagement, and delivering clear project recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop roadway, highway, and intersection improvement plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other transportation design software.
  • Assist with the design and modeling of transportation infrastructure projects from concept through final design.
  • Perform traffic operations and capacity analyses for intersections and roadway corridors.
  • Analyze traffic data, evaluate transportation performance, and prepare clear recommendations for project teams and clients.
  • Prepare technical reports, design documentation, exhibits, and engineering calculations.
  • Create visuals and presentations to communicate project concepts.
  • Support public involvement meetings and stakeholder engagement.
  • Present transportation project information to community members and facilitate input.
  • Conduct field observations and assist during construction and implementation phases.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including planners, engineers, surveyors, and environmental specialists.

Graduate Engineer - Transportation

Location(s): Baraboo, WI

Are you ready to help shape the roads, intersections, and transportation systems that connect communities? We're looking for a Graduate Engineer - Transportation to join our growing team of transportation professionals and contribute to roadway and intersection improvement projects that make a lasting impact.

In this role, you'll work alongside experienced engineers on projects from planning and design through construction. You'll gain hands‑on experience using industry-leading design and modeling tools while helping deliver innovative transportation solutions that improve mobility, safety, and quality of life for the public.

Whether you're designing roadway improvements in AutoCAD Civil 3D, analyzing intersection performance, or presenting project concepts to community stakeholders, you'll play an important role in bringing transportation projects to life.

  • Create compelling graphics, visualizations, and presentation materials to communicate project concepts.
  • Support and participate in public involvement meetings, open houses, and stakeholder engagement efforts.
  • Present transportation project information to community members and help facilitate meaningful public input.
  • Conduct field observations, gather project data, and assist during construction and implementation phases.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including transportation planners, engineers, surveyors, and environmental specialists.

Pay & Benefits
  • Compensation Range: $62,600–$100,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • Flex Time ( Remove for Hourly ): Work 42 hours this week? Have 2 hours added to your Flex Time balance to use as time off in the future
  • ESOP: Receive MSA stock shares annually, at no cost to the employee
