Job summary

Ulteig is seeking a Graduate Engineer to support renewable development projects nationwide. You’ll perform routine engineering tasks, assist with plans and designs for wind, solar and BESS, and help with permitting and interconnection studies under supervision. We value self‑motivation and clear communication, plus teamwork.

A B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (ABET) with an EIT or within 1 year of hire is required; Autodesk Civil 3D/AutoCAD and related tools are preferred. U.S.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited program; graduation within 6 months of hire.
  • EIT certification or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
  • Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD experience preferred.
  • Authorized to work permanently in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in development of plans, specifications and design deliverables for utility-scale wind, solar and BESS projects.
  • Research codes, standards and project requirements to support design and compliance.
  • Collaborate with engineers across disciplines to deliver renewable energy projects.
  • Perform design calculations, preliminary layouts and single line drawings under supervision.
  • Develop proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, CYMCAP, SAM, PVsyst, PVFarm.
  • Prepare quantity takeoffs and support permitting, utility crossings and interconnection designs.
  • Assist in resolving design challenges with creative engineering solutions.

Job description

The Opportunity

Ulteig is seeking talented and motivated candidates for a Graduate Engineer supporting renewable development projects. The Graduate Engineer will be responsible for performing routine engineering tasks, and investigations or observations under supervision on utility-scale wind, solar, and battery storage (BESS) renewable energy projects across the country. Candidates should be self-motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills. They must also be able to work in a team environment. We are looking for candidates that are committed to client satisfaction, and adhere strictly to client-driven standards, schedules, budgets, and passionate about the renewable energy industry.

What You'll Do
  • Assist in the development of plans, specifications, and design deliverables for utility-scale wind, solar, and battery energy storage (BESS) projects.
  • Research applicable codes, standards, and project requirements to support engineering design and project compliance.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians across multiple disciplines to deliver renewable energy projects.
  • Perform engineering tasks under the guidance of project discipline leads, including design calculations, preliminary layouts, and single line drawings.
  • Develop proficiency in industry software including AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, CYMCAP, SAM, PVsyst, and PVFarm.
  • Prepare quantity takeoffs and support permitting, utility crossing, and interconnection application designs.
  • Assist in resolving design challenges with creative engineering solutions in collaboration with peers.
What We Expect from You
  • B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent is required. Completed or currently pursuing with graduation expected within 6 months of hire.
  • EIT certification or the ability to obtain within 1 year of hire
  • Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD experience desired
  • Demonstrates curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new engineering skills and concepts.
  • Works effectively with peers and cross-discipline project teams, contributing to a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Seeks feedback, embraces new challenges, and shows a commitment to continuous professional growth.
  • Must have authorization to work permanently in the US

Additional Opportunity Details:
Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $77,300-$85,500
