Job summary

Baxter & Woodman is seeking a Graduate Engineer I in our Austin, TX office. The role involves supporting project managers with engineering design for water and wastewater projects, preparing construction plans, conducting calculations, and assisting with reports, feasibility studies, and cost estimates.

Responsibilities include field data collection, site verifications, and attending on-site meetings. Ideal candidates hold a Civil or Environmental Engineering BS and can travel within the service

Qualifications

• Must have passed the FE Exam in Texas or be able to transfer/pass within six months.
• Willingness to travel across Baxter & Woodman service area.
• Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers by providing engineering design support for water and wastewater projects.
• Assist with construction plans, design calculations, research, and reports; prepare estimates and evaluate infrastructure systems.
• Support permitting, regulatory compliance, and review contractor submittals for construction.
• Conduct field investigations to verify site conditions and collect data.
• Attend on-site meetings with project representatives or contractors.
• Work both independently and as part of a project team.
