Job summary

Sam Houston State University is seeking a Graduate Employee-AI/ML Development Research Assistant to support AI/ML development projects within the Dept of Engineering Technology. Responsibilities include data preparation, model development and evaluation, prototyping, experimentation, documentation, and implementation of AI/ML workflows.

The position targets current graduate students in related fields, with basic Python and math background, and a willingness to learn new AI/ML tools.

Qualifications

• Current graduate student in Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.
• Basic knowledge of Python programming.
• Basic mathematics background, including comfort with algebra, statistics, or related quantitative concepts.
• Willingness to learn new AI/ML tools, frameworks, and development practices.
• Ability to work independently and communicate progress clearly.

Other Requirements for the Position:
