Job summary

NextGenEnergyJobs is seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join the Facilities Engineering-Electrical team in downtown Duluth. You will design electrical systems for buildings and industrial facilities, focusing on power, lighting, and related systems.

The role requires strong drafting skills and NEC knowledge. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering, EIT/FE eligibility, and the ability to travel up to 15%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
• Up to four years' experience designing electrical systems for buildings/industrial facilities.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit for drafting.
• Knowledge of NEC, load calculations, short circuit calculations.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to write specs/reports.
• Travel up to 15% for meetings, client visits, site inspections.
• Successful completion of EIT/FE Exam.
• Experience designing lighting, fire alarm, and security systems.

Graduate Design Engineer, Electrical - Industrial Facility Lighting & Power Distribution

Our employee-owned and multi-disciplined team of engineering and design professionals has an exciting opportunity for you to join our Facilities Engineering-Electrical team in downtown Duluth as a Graduate Electrical Engineer!

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
• Upcoming graduate to experienced professional with up to four years of previous experience designing building and/or industrial facilities electrical systems – power, lighting, and signal (phone, fire alarm, and security).
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Strong interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills; Ability to write specifications and reports and participate in project team meeting discussions.
• Ability to travel as needed (up to 15%) for team meetings, client consultations, site inspections/visits, etc.; Occasional overnight travel may be required.
• Successful completion of EIT / FE Exam.
• Proficiency with electrical drafting using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience working with SKM Power Tools.
• Working knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), load calculations, short circuit calculations, and circuit schedules.
• Previous experience with site, facility, and industrial electrical design Experience designing lighting systems for commercial and industrial facilities.
• Experience designing fire alarm and communication systems for commercial and industrial facilities.
