Qualifications

• Earned Doctorate in Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Counselor Education, or Clinical Psychology from a regionally accredited institution; or a Master’s in related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• Eligibility for California licensure (MFT, PCC, or Licensed Psychologist).
• Clinical/counseling experience with diverse populations and intervention strategies.
• Demonstrated ability to teach at the university level, preferably graduate level.
• Experience with CMHC courses (Group Counseling, Substance Abuse & Dependence, Clinical Supervision).
• Ability to supervise practicum/traineeship/internship if considered for courses.
• Ability to articulate a theoretical orientation in clinical mental health counseling.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse, multicultural populations.
• Ability to handle delicate counseling issues with students.

Responsibilities

• Teach graduate level courses within the Department of Counseling (e.g., Group Counseling, Substance Abuse & Dependence).
• Supervise practicum/traineeship/internship students as appropriate.
• Articulate a clear theoretical orientation to clinical mental health counseling.
• Engage with diverse student populations and foster an inclusive learning environment.

Education

Doctorate in Counseling or Counseling Psychology or Counselor Education or Clinical Psychology

Masters in Counseling or Counseling Psychology or Counselor Education or Clinical Psychology

Eligibility for clinical licensure in California (MFT, PCC, or licensed psychologist)

Clinical/counseling experience with diverse populations

Teaching experience at university level (graduate level preferred)

Experience with CMHC courses (Group Counseling, Substance Abuse & Dependence, Clinical Supervision)
