Job description

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Provides assistance in the recruitment, retention, and refinement of teacher education candidates.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Provide one-on-one tutoring, instruction, and feedback for students needing remediation on required state certification exams.
2. Take minutes during SoE meetings and archive them appropriately for accreditation visits.
3. Manage data for accreditation reports through importing, exporting, and generating reports.
4. Assist professors with writing program reviews.
5. Support students in preparing for state certification exams.
6. Occasionally proctor classes during testing.
7. Track checkout and return of iPads, laptops, Chromebooks, and other curricular materials.
8. Maintain the curriculum lab and ed tech lab to support methods courses.
9. Attend classes occasionally to review concepts and reinforce learning during tutoring sessions.
10. Oversee work-study students when appropriate.
11. Meet with prospective students and parents as needed.
12. Training will be provided in areas including:
    • Brightspace setup and usage
    • Assessment practices and procedures
    • Chalk and Wire administration
    • Zoom meetings
    • Writing and editing tutoring (including writing instruction, APA formatting, etc.)
    • Grading and providing feedback
    • Classroom management
    • Pedagogical strategies for remedial students
    • The Data Teams process and data-driven decision making
13. Work a minimum of 20 hours per week.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field. Candidates eligible for an Oklahoma Teacher Certificate are preferred. Must demonstrate timeliness and professionalism. Knowledge of MS Office, ADP, and online portfolios is required.

SUPERVISION OF PERSONNEL:
Supervise work-study students in the School of Education.
