Monday through Friday 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm plus all golf trips

Job Summary

Southern Nazarene University is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as a graduate assistant coach for the SNU Golf Program. The University is a member of the NCAA DII Great American Conference. The successful candidate will have a mature, growing relationship with Christ and collegiate coaching/playing experience. They will assist with the day-to-day operations of the Men’s and Women’s Golf Program, including daily practice and qualifying, traveling to tournaments to coach teams, and working with the Head Coach on all team workouts.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
  • Develop practice plans to improve each player's game.
  • Travel to all away Men’s and Women’s Tournaments.
  • Maintain daily communication with the Head Coach to support team growth.
  • Assist with NCAA CARA Logs for each team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Profess faith in Jesus Christ, possess a strong personal Christian commitment, and be committed to the SNU mission to make Christlike disciples through higher education in a Christ-centered community.
  • Understanding of diversity, inclusion, and equity.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Spiritual life aligned with SNU’s mission and values.
  • Acceptance into a master’s degree program at SNU.
  • Ability to solve problems and work under pressure.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some college coursework.
  • Experience in higher education.
Supervision

Receives supervision from the Head Men’s & Women’s Golf Coach; other staff may provide work directions.

Supervision Exercised

May coordinate work for student employees.
