Marshall University in Huntington, WV seeks a Graduate Assistant in Forensic Science to co-teach undergraduate laboratory sections (CHM 218) with Dr. Madelyn Jackstadt.
The GA will prepare chemical solutions, standardized samples, and materials for teaching labs, perform instrument preparation and maintenance, and assess student work under supervision. This is a full-time 20-hour-per-week appointment for the fall semester, requiring a Bachelor’s degree in Forensic Science and prior chemistry lab
Position Title Graduate Assistant - Forensic Science Description of GA Assignment GA: Teacher – Adjunct instructor of record and assigned to teach one (half-time appointment) or two (full-time appointment) undergraduate course(s) or lab(s). Responsible for assigning student grades and following all University teaching guidelines.
Student will co‑teach undergraduate laboratory (CHM 218 Monday 2:00-4:50 lab) with Dr. Madelyn Jackstadt.
The assistant will also prepare chemical solutions, standardized samples, and other materials needed for upper-level teaching laboratories in the department. Preparation, testing, and maintenance of chemical analysis instruments may also be required. Tasks will be performed under the supervision of the professor responsible for the teaching laboratory.
