Job Summary

The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) Graduate Assistant (GA) will support the QEP Implementation Team as they provide educational development activities for faculty and assess QEP data. Graduate Assistants will communicate with QEP Team members and the larger UWG community via email, phone, chat, and in person. Graduate Assistants will also assist with other QEP projects and events, such as the annual QEP symposium, as needed.

Required Qualifications

To be considered for a graduate assistantship at the University of West Georgia (UWG), students must meet the following criteria:

• Be fully admitted to a graduate degree program at UWG. Please note: Students admitted provisionally are not eligible for assistantship positions.
• Hold a Bachelor¿s degree from an accredited institution.
• Be enrolled full-time in a UWG graduate program during the assistantship period.
• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all previous and current graduate coursework and remain in good academic standing.
• Meet eligibility requirements for employment in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• Enrolled in a graduate program in education, assessment, or related field
• Intermediate knowledge of Adobe programs
• Knowledge of experiential learning theories and best practices
• Knowledge of NACE career-readiness competencies and strategies for integrating them into student learning experiences
• Knowledge of best teaching practices for both in‑person and online learning environments
• Working knowledge of/familiarity with Qualtrics and/or other assessment tools

Proposed Salary

• A monthly stipend of $1,000.00 per month
• A tuition waiver, reducing the semester rate to $25 plus mandatory fees while employed in the assistantship

The QEP GA will perform above-average duties of a complex nature requiring prior knowledge, skill, or training.

• Graduate Assistant positions may be physically demanding, and the work may be performed under difficult conditions.
• Students in these positions most often work with little to no supervision. This classification may be used while training for a higher level.
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
