Purpose of Role
This position will work with the Cross Country and Track & Field program. Under the supervision of the Head Coach, Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track & Field, the position will help support all aspects of the program including travel, recruiting, administration, and coaching/mentoring. The selected applicant will receive a tuition waiver for up to 18 graduate credits for the 2025-2026 academic calendar year (August 1, 2025 - May 31, 2026). The applicant will be responsible for the costs of any fees and books associated with the program. Campus housing may be offered if space is available. This position may be renewed for the next academic year, conditional upon satisfactory performance, availability of funds, adherence to employment protocols and remaining in good academic standing. The selected person will be required to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during the term of appointment. The individual selected for the position may also be expected to cover a minimum of 5 hours of responsibilities assigned in event operations, facility management, and any other duties as assigned.

Joining our Athletic team, the Graduate Assistant for Cross Country and Track & Field will be responsible for the following:
Primary Duties
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
● Ability to work with a diverse population.
● Ability to work both traditional and non-traditional business hours including Sundays and evenings.
● Ability to receive telephone calls/emails, respond to inquiries and communicate with others by telephone/email.
● Experience competing in Cross Country and/or Track & Field and a working knowledge of rules and regulations for college athletics.
● Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google applications.
● Strong writing skills.
● Proficient in the use and maintenance of various social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram.
● Ability to drive a personal or university vehicle for the purpose of university business on a regular basis.

This position operates under the rules and regulations of Daemen University, the NCAA, the ECC and NEC; understanding that an employee can be suspended for a period of time without pay or terminated if found to be involved in significant or repetitive violations of NCAA or institutional regulations.
