Reports to: Director of Athletics

Rate: AZ state minimum wage

Position Summary: This position assists in the operations of home athletic events, enhances the community experience, and supports branding efforts in athletics.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement marketing and promotion strategies to increase awareness, engagement, and attendance for athletic programs. Promote programs and events through community relations, organizing internal and external groups. Oversee game day promotions, including creating and executing scripts and presentations.
  2. Serve as game day manager for fall, winter, and spring sports. Assist with event responsibilities such as setup and takedown. Coordinate with visiting teams to identify gameday needs.
  3. Supervise student workers involved in event management. Hire, train, and evaluate staff.
  4. Perform other duties as assigned by Athletics Staff.

Additional Functions:

  • Build relationships within the university and community.
  • Attend departmental and university meetings and events.
  • Maintain positive relationships with student athletes, alumni, parents, officials, volunteers, and fans.
  • Participate in university, conference, and national committees as needed.
  • Promote Benedictine University and Athletics department positively on campus and in the community.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; must be enrolled as a Benedictine student in good standing.
  • Experience in collegiate athletics preferred.
  • Acceptance into a Benedictine Graduate program and maintaining good standing is required.
  • Skills in organization, communication, data entry, budgeting, and supervision.

Knowledge and Certifications: Valid driver’s license, CPR/First Aid/AED certification within 90 days of hire.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and handle varying stress levels. May involve outdoor exposure and travel. Must communicate clearly and see objects at various distances.

Other: Follow campus pandemic protocols. Nights and weekends work required. Complete all university trainings.
