The Office of BEAR Central at Lenoir-Rhyne University seeks a graduate assistant to support academic success initiatives for student-athletes. This position oversees the student-athlete study hall program and provides academic coaching and support. The graduate assistant will work closely with Athletics and BEAR Central to ensure student-athletes receive the resources and guidance necessary to succeed academically.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Work 21 hours per week, including a combination of daytime and primarily evening hours in BEAR Central.
  • Oversee and manage the student-athlete study hall program during the fall and spring semesters.
  • Train and supervise evening study hall monitors, including managing scheduling and resolving scheduling conflicts.
  • Meet with student-athletes to provide academic coaching in areas such as time management, study strategies and goal setting.
  • Assist with planning and staffing evening academic support events hosted by BEAR Central.
  • Become proficient in the TracCloud platform to assist students and tutors with scheduling, check-ins and reporting.
  • Support BEAR Central and Athletics with additional student success initiatives as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Full-time enrollment in a graduate program at Lenoir-Rhyne University.

Work Schedule

21 hours per week, with the schedule determined in coordination with BEAR Central staff and based on program needs and availability.
