Job summary

Thomas Jefferson University is seeking an instructor to teach designated graduate courses in the indicated semester(s). The role involves collaborating with College staff to develop and review course materials, producing a complete syllabus, and coordinating with departments on textbook orders and assessments.

You will provide final grades by the deadline, participate in course evaluations, and supervise teaching/lab assistants when applicable.

Qualifications

• Teach designated graduate course(s) during indicated semester(s).
• Develop and/or review course and assessment materials in collaboration with College staff and faculty.
• Produce a course syllabus with objectives, content outline, tests and grading requirements.
• Provide textbooks orders information to the College.
• Prepare materials for copying/printing at least one week before start date.
• Provide final grades by the specified date and participate in course evaluations.
• Supervise teaching/laboratory assistants if applicable.
• For labs: list equipment and supply needs at least one month prior to start date and provide a lab manual.
• Maintain office hours for academic support.
• Interact with coworkers and staff in line with University core values.

Responsibilities

• Provide the College with textbook orders and printing materials at least one week before course start.

• Guide and supervise teaching/lab assistants where applicable.
• For laboratory courses, prepare equipment lists and lab manuals well in advance.
• Maintain regular office hours for student academic support.
• Represent the University professionally in interactions with staff and visitors.
