Job summary

Qualifications

Grades 5 & 6 Boys Basketball Coach

McLean School (mcleanschool.org), a K-12 co-educational independent school in Potomac, Maryland, seeks applicants for a Boys Grades 5 & 6 Basketball Coach for the Winter 2026-2027 season, which runs from November through the beginning of February.

The Boys Grades 5 & 6 Basketball Coach is responsible for team oversight, acting as a positive role model, and supporting the Mission and Core Values of the School.

This position reports directly to the Director of Athletics, Coaching, and Mentoring.

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience as a youth, high school, and/or club-level coach, experience with providing differentiated instruction to athletes of all levels, effective written and oral communication skills, knowledgeable of the fundamentals and techniques of competitive basketball, an ability to build relationships and work well with others, and a sharp perspective on the role of athletics in the educational experience.
