Aerotek is seeking a General Laborer - Grader Operator at a steel mill in Decatur, AL. The role focuses on safely operating a grader and other heavy equipment to level landfill areas used for steel byproducts, in an outdoor, hot, dusty environment.

You will work 40–50 hours per week starting at 6:30 AM, with a strong emphasis on safety, PPE, and adherence to site procedures while supporting daily operations and earthwork tasks.

Qualificações

• Experience operating a grader or heavy equipment in construction, earthworks, or industrial environments.
• Proficiency in heavy equipment operation and safe maneuvering on uneven, active sites.
• Ability to work safely in hot, dusty outdoor conditions with PPE per site procedures.
• Reliable transportation to the Decatur, AL site and ability to work 40–50 hours per week starting at 6:30 AM.

Responsabilidades

• Operate grader equipment to level, shape, and maintain landfill areas for steel byproducts.
• Drive and maneuver heavy equipment across uneven terrain safely.
• Perform basic inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Coordinate with site supervisors to meet safety and operational standards.
• Follow all safety protocols including lockout/tagout and PPE usage.
• Assist with general labor tasks including earthworks, excavation support, and concrete-related work in the landfill area.
• Support material movement using haul and dump trucks when required.
