Job summary

San Francisco Waldorf School in San Francisco seeks enthusiastic and reliable Grade School Substitute Teachers for Early Childhood and/or Grades 1-8 who are passionate about Waldorf education. The ideal candidate is adaptable, nurturing, and able to maintain classroom flow while honoring the school’s philosophy.

This is a part-time, as-needed, temporary position. Compensation is $55 per hour or $250 for a full day. It carries no benefits beyond those provided by the City of San Francisco.

Qualifications

• Waldorf Teacher Training completed - preferred.
• Enthusiasm and Flexibility for varied classrooms.
• Early Childhood and/or Grade School teaching experience preferred.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to various teaching environments and grades.
• TB Assessment and Livescan Fingerprinting required.

• Provide instruction and maintain the classroom environment as outlined in the lesson plans provided by the primary teacher.
• Foster a supportive and engaging learning atmosphere for students.
• Maintain continuity and stability within the classroom.

San Francisco Waldorf School

The ideal candidate will be adaptable, nurturing, and capable of maintaining the classroom's flow while adhering to the values and philosophy of Waldorf education.

Physical Requirements And Work Environment

• Be able to occasionally lift to 30 lbs.
• Work intermittently in outside weather conditions, including heat and cold
• Regularly sitting or standing 4-8 hours

Employment Details

Compensation is $55 per hour or $250 for a full day. This is a part-time, as needed, temporary/short-term, non-exempt position. It carries no benefits other than those available through San Francisco City. This position does not continue during the summer break months.

School breaks and Holidays are unpaid.
