Job summary

Curtis Contracting, Inc. in the Richmond area is seeking multiple Grade Foremen for a large upcoming project kicking off in December. You will supervise crews, manage daily assignments, track progress, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.

Ideal candidates have heavy civil construction experience, GPS-grade checking knowledge, and the ability to lead, train, and evaluate crews across shifts. A high school diploma and valid driver’s license are preferred, with overtime and outdoor work

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a construction supervisory role preferred.
• Five plus years previous heavy civil construction experience.
• Experience with grade checking to meet project plans and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all crew members, including a minimum of two direct employees and subcontracted staff.
• Oversee daily crew assignments, scheduling, and attendance.
• Monitor progress and certify crew hours for payroll.
• Delegate tasks and direct crew with leadership and accountability.
• Involve in orientation, training, performance management and employment decisions.
• Ensure safety precautions and quality standards are met.
