Job summary

Salem Public Schools in Salem, MA seeks a Personalized Learning Lab instructor for Grade 7 Math at Collins Middle School for SY 2026-2027. You will co-design and lead instruction integrating personalized pathways, literacy and math labs, and data-driven instruction to support diverse learners.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, MA teaching certification, and 2+ years of urban teaching experience, with a preference for project-based learning and ESL/Special Education competencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Massachusetts teaching certification for middle school (flexible certification area).
• Dual Certification (ESL or Special Education) a plus.
• Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement required within 1 year of start date.
• Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in urban public or charter school settings preferred.
• Experience leading long-duration project-based learning.
• Experience differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Experience using technology and data tools in learning (e.g., Google G-Suite).
• Multilingual candidates encouraged; Spanish/Portuguese a plus.
• Current authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Launch, establish, and maintain a co-constructed culture of joy, mutual respect, and empowerment for students.
• Design and implement personalized learning experiences across literacy and math labs.
• Collaborate with grade-level teams and community partners to support field immersions and field learning.
• Use data tools (STAR, My Perspectives, Desmos, Eureka, ZEARN, ALEKS) to design and adjust instruction.
• Support differentiation and accessibility to ensure all learners can progress.
