Job summary

HANCOCK COUNTY SCHOOLS in New Cumberland, West Virginia is seeking an Elementary/Secondary Classroom Teacher. The successful candidate will provide the educational program within the classroom and work under the supervision of the building principal.

Must hold a valid WV certificate for the position. Salary is determined by the Hancock County Schools salary schedule for professionals, commensurate with experience and degree level. Additional duties may be assigned by the Superintendent.

• Must hold WV teaching certificate for the position.

Responsibilities

• A. Give each student in the classroom the attention needed to reach their highest potential.
• B. Record achievement per school policy and report fairly regardless of student attitude or conduct.
• C. Maintain professional conduct with superiors, coworkers, parents, and students.
• D. Complete all reporting required by the immediate supervisor.
• E. Work under principal supervision for hall, bus, lunch, and other duties.
• F. Accept other duties as determined by the principal.
• G. Implement the stated program of study.
• H. Foster a climate conducive to learning.
• I. Use instructional management systems to increase learning and maximize time on task.
• J. Monitor and report student progress toward learning outcomes.
• K. Maintain and upgrade professional skills and teaching techniques.
• L. Promote positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships.
• M. Maintain professional work habits and appearance.
• N. Incorporate differentiated instruction.
• O. Co-Teaching when applicable.
• P. Implement MTSS within the school/classroom.
• Q. Integrate technology within the school/classroom.
