Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education required.
• Minimum of two years teaching in an urban public school or charter school setting.
• Proven track-record of high achievement and accountability.
• Belief in Manhattan Charter School's core beliefs and educational philosophy.
• Valid New York State Certification is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Execute the mission of MCS with high academic achievement and integrated core disciplines.
• Provide consistent support to students regardless of challenges.
• Reflect on instructional practices to meet academic goals.
• Plan student learning based on long- and short-term goals and objectives.
• Select effective instructional methods and materials.
• Establish cooperative relationships with assigned students.
• Maintain positive classroom management and keep students on task.
• Attend and facilitate team meetings and professional development.
• Collaborate with peers to design a coherent curricular plan.
• Prepare, administer, and review required student assessments.
• Meet attendance requirements and perform other duties as needed.
