Job summary

All Hallows Academy, located at 2390 Nautilus St., La Jolla, CA 92037, seeks a full-time instructional aide to support a teacher and the principal in working with students in 4th and 5th grade. The role includes preparing work, escorting and supervising students, assisting with library duties, and helping coordinate field trips.

The position requires understanding of child development, strong organization, and the ability to use a classroom management system.

Qualifications

• Active, practicing Roman Catholic (preferred)
• Ability to work within the basic tenets of the Catholic Faith
• Understanding of child development and skills to relate to students
• Able to use the classroom management system and techniques
• Cooperate with the assigned teacher and staff
• Be organized and attentive to detail
• Exhibit a professional demeanor and communicate effectively
• Ability to work with technology; knowledge of Apple products and other software

Responsibilities

• Prepare work as directed by the teacher
• File student papers
• Escort and supervise students
• Supervise students during playtime
• Assist library checkout and book returns
• Assist with field trip arrangements
• Work with small groups for tutorials or enrichment
• Substitute for the teacher when needed (short term)
• Maintain confidentiality and ethical behavior
• Assist with daily classroom routine
• Other duties as assigned
