Job summary

Qualifications

• Certified in subject area
• Bachelor's degree required
• Student teaching or equivalent experience
• Alternative qualifications may be acceptable as determined by BOE

Responsibilities

• Instructs assigned classes at designated times and locations.
• Plans curriculum to meet student needs and abilities.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Prepares for classes and shows evidence of preparation upon request.
• Encourages students to set and maintain classroom behavior standards.
• Guides learning toward curriculum goals and communicates objectives.
• Uses varied instructional techniques and media suited to students.
• Strives to implement district education goals in instruction.
• Assesses student progress and provides reports as required.
• Diagnoses learning needs and seeks appropriate district support.
• Protects students, equipment, and facilities.
• Maintains accurate records per policy and regulation.
• Helps enforce classroom rules and administers conduct fairly.
• Available to students/parents outside instructional hours when needed.
• Plans and supervises aides/volunteers and evaluates their performance.
• Maintains professional competence and participates in staff activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned
