Job summary

Branch Civil is seeking a GPS Modeler to join our growing team. The role focuses on compiling, manipulating, and analyzing data to create 3D models for machine control field operations, requiring strong plan reading, CAD experience, and earthmoving analysis.

Responsibilities include analyzing drawings and field surveys, producing reports and visualizations, and using CAD platforms like AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson, Trimble Business Center, and MicroStation. Travel is intermittent.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years construction surveying experience.
• Knowledge of Trimble and/or Topcon GPS equipment.
• High School diploma or equivalency.

• Create reports, maps, applications, and visualizations conveying spatial analysis results.
• Utilize CAD platforms including AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson, Trimble Business Center and MicroStation.
• Ensure 3D models are accurate to support construction operations.
• Identify conflicts and resolve ambiguities in engineer/owner designs.
• Collaborate with Project Engineers and Project Managers to troubleshoot and address inconsistencies.
• Transfer files to projects using Trimble Works Manager, Trimble Stratus and Topcon MobiControl.
• Work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment.

This requires proficient plan reading, CAD experience, and some engineering analysis, specifically with earth moving.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Analyze information from contract drawings, specifications, and field surveys.
• Create reports, maps, applications, and visualizations conveying the results of spatial analyses.
• Utilize various CAD platforms including but not limited to AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson, Trimble Business Center and MicroStation.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of 3D models to support efficient and effective construction operations.
• Identify conflicts and resolves ambiguity in the engineer/owner’s design.
• Work with Project Engineers and Project Managers related to troubleshooting and generate plans addressing inconsistencies.
• Manage and transfer files to projects using several software platforms including but not limited to Trimble Works Manager, Trimble Stratus and Topcon MobiControl.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Compensation Data

Salary Min: $58,012.50

Salary Max: $99,480

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
