Job summary

Branch Civil is seeking a safety-oriented GPS Bulldozer Operator to join our growing Civil Division. The operator will drive a tractor with a blade to excavate, level, and distribute earth, pushing trees and rocks as needed on active projects.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of GPS bulldozer experience, solid knowledge of construction techniques, and familiarity with OSHA regulations. DOT experience is preferred but not required.

  • Must have 1–3 years of GPS bulldozer operating experience.
  • Knowledge of construction techniques.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • DOT experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Attaches attachments to tractor and connects hydraulic hoses to power attachments.
  • Operates controls to maneuver tractor and raise, lower, and tilt attachments for grading and clearing rights of way.
  • Monitors engine for stalling to estimate depth of cut and adjusts accordingly.
  • Performs successive passes to create desired grade following grade stakes or signals.
  • May service and adjust equipment as needed.

Job description

Position Summary

Branch's Civil Division is searching for an experienced and safety-oriented GPS Bulldozer Operator to join our well-established, growing company. The GPS Bulldozer Operator operates a tractor with a blade attached across the front to excavate, level, and distribute earth and to push trees and rocks.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Fastens attachments to tractor
  • Connects hydraulic hoses, belts, mechanical linkage or power takeoff shaft to tractor to provide power to raise, lower or tilt attachment
  • Operates controls to manipulate tool bars, carriers and disks
  • Operates controls to maneuver tractor and raise, lower and tilt attachments to clear right-of-way
  • Listens for stalling action of engine to estimate depth of cut
  • Operates bulldozer in successive passes to raise or lower terrain to specified grade following markings on grade stakes or hand signals
  • May service and make normal operating adjustments to equipment
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of construction techniques
  • 1 to 3 years of GPS bulldozer operating experience
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • DOT experience preferred, but not required
Compensation Data

Salary Min: $42,045.50

Salary Max: $70,110

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.

The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position which will typically involve 40+ hours a week. Due to the nature of the job, the employee must be available on-call early/late hours to deal with delays, bad weather and emergencies at the job site.
