Job summary

KARL STORZ Endoscopy seeks a GPDP Project Manager to lead complex OR Integration programs from concept through pilot and transition to manufacturing. This hybrid role coordinates software, hardware, and systems engineering with quality and supply chain to meet milestones, budgets, and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will have 5-7+ years in hardware/software development project management, GPDP/Agile experience, and strong communication to drive cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of experience managing complex hardware and software development projects.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with GPDP, stage-gate, Agile, or hybrid Agile product development environments.
• Experience managing software lifecycles and hardware deliverables (drawings, BOMs, part numbering).
• Strong planning skills using Microsoft Project and Agile planning tools.
• Excellent communication, leadership, stakeholder management, mentoring, and influencing skills.
• Ability to travel up to 10% annually.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex OR Integration product development programs from concept through pilot phase, transition to manufacturing, and release.
• Create and maintain project execution plans, delivery timelines, cost goals, schedules, budgets, and deliverables aligned with GPDP and Agile practices.
• Drive cross-functional execution across software, hardware, systems, audio/video engineering, quality, manufacturing, supply chain, service, and product teams.
• Own schedule visibility by managing dependencies, critical paths, risks, mitigation plans, and forecasted delivery dates.
• Ensure engineering deliverables such as BOMs, part numbering, drawings, subsystem plans, and long-lead items are reflected in project plans.
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering during production ramp and support feedback-driven improvements after release.
• Communicate project status, risks, decisions, and delivery expectations clearly to stakeholders and leadership.

About the Role

As the GPDP Project Manager, you will own complex product development programs from concept through transition and release to manufacturing. Serving as the single delivery owner, you will connect cross-functional teams across software, hardware, systems engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and service to ensure integrated OR Integration products are delivered on schedule, within cost targets, and with the quality required in a regulated medical technology environment.

This role operates in a hybrid Agile / GPDP stage-gate environment and requires a project leader who can actively manage work packages, critical paths, cross-functional dependencies, technical deliverables, and risk mitigation from initialization through pilot phase and production ramp. The compensation range for this role $92,300 - $120,000.

• Experience with GPDP, stage-gate, Agile, or hybrid Agile product development environments.
• Proven ability to manage software development lifecycles and hardware engineering deliverables, including drawings, BOMs, part numbering, and systems integration.
• Strong project planning skills with experience using tools such as Microsoft Project and Agile planning tools.
• Excellent communication, leadership, stakeholder management, mentoring, and influencing skills.
• Ability to travel up to 10% annually, including travel to beta sites and operating room environments as needed.
