Job summary

D-Fend Solutions, a Motorola Solutions company, seeks an experienced attorney in Virginia to guide government contracting and compliance. You will advise on ITAR, EAR, FAR, and related regulations for global operations, and help ensure contracts with U.S.

government customers meet stringent legal requirements. The role requires strong public sector contracting knowledge, excellent communication, and the ability to work cross-functionally with legal, operations, and external counsel.

Qualifications

• Requires a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Bar of at least one state is required.
• 5+ years of experience in public sector and/or government contracting, regulatory compliance, or corporate law.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory compliance: Ensure ITAR, EAR, FAR, and DFARS compliance and advise stakeholders on export control laws.
• Contract Review & Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate government and commercial contracts and bid documents, including RFPs/RFIs, SOWs, amendments, NDAs and related clauses.
• Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments for federal projects and manage compliance risks related to ITAR, EAR, FAR, and DFARS.
• Policy Development: Establish, update and implement corporate policies related to ITAR, EAR, FAR, and DFARS compliance; train staff.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with legal, operations, compliance teams and external counsel to ensure regulatory alignment.
