Job summary

The State of Florida, Department of Environmental Protection, invites applications for a Government Operations Consultant I in Tallahassee. The position supports the Division of State Lands’ Budget/Administrative Section, handling contracts, purchasing, travel, and invoicing while ensuring compliance with state policies.

Responsibilities include processing requisitions, managing MFMP procurements, auditing P-card charges, and assisting with audits and reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of administrative principles and practices; office procedures and data collection.
• Skill in using a computer and in verbal and written communication; ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze administrative data.
• Ability to understand and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures; problem solving and independent work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct organizational studies and evaluations of office procedures to improve efficiency.
• Assist with contract preparation, task assignments, and change orders.
• Coordinate with contracts administrator and legal to ensure compliance with statutes and policies; audit invoices and payments.
• Manage purchasing via MFMP; handle requisitions, Purchase Orders, and verify deliveries and invoicing.
• Process division travel requests and reimbursements; assist travelers with travel matters.
• Ensure wireless usage is compliant and reimburse monthly invoices.
• Provide backup support to purchasing staff and monitor due dates.
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
