Job summary

State of California invites applications for a Supervising Governmental Auditor I (Audit Manager) in Los Angeles County. This permanent, full-time role leads a team conducting fiscal, performance, and program audits of several provider programs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of general accounting and auditing principles.
• Familiarity with California public sector audit processes.
• Ability to supervise a diverse audit team.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience reviewing audit reports prepared by CPAs.
• Leadership experience managing a diverse team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, plan, and direct a team of professional audit staff who conduct fiscal, performance, and program audits.
• Establish unit goals, monitor progress, set and review unit priorities.
• Recruit, hire, train, develop, and motivate audit staff.
• Evaluate performance of audit staff; review work papers and provide feedback or consultation.
