Job description

About us

Johnson Controls, a global leader in thermal management, mission-critical building systems, energy efficiency, and decarbonization, helps customers use energy more productively, reduce carbon emissions, and operate with the precision and resilience required in rapidly expanding industries such as data centers, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, advanced manufacturing, and higher education.

For more than 140 years, Johnson Controls has delivered performance where it really matters. Backed by advanced technology, lifecycle services and an industry-leading field organization, we elevate customer performance, turn goals into real-world results and help move society forward.

What you will do

Johnson Controls is a global organization focused on smart, healthy, and sustainable buildings. In this role, you will help support complex security and integrated systems programs by combining technical depth, customer focus, and hands-on execution to deliver reliable outcomes for PMO projects and programs. As a Systems Application Manager, Government Technologies, you will provide technical assistance, system design and management, and subject matter expertise for integrated security systems supporting PMO customers. You will analyze customer needs, define system objectives and requirements, develop solutions for new or existing applications, and support field teams and customers nationwide through training, documentation, troubleshooting, and escalation support.

How you will do it

Support PMO projects and programs by designing, reviewing, and validating integrated security system solutions for customer requirements. Analyze customer needs, translate them into system objectives, and develop practical solutions for new and existing applications. Review equipment application and confirm compatibility, correct product selection, and accurate system design against specifications. Research system issues, follow troubleshooting procedures, and use manuals, parts manuals, change notices, and bulletins to diagnose and resolve problems. Provide ongoing technical support to PMO teams, customers, field technicians, and Business Operations throughout project delivery, start-up, commissioning, and handover. Bench test and program access control systems before shipment and provide in-field programming and commissioning support as needed. Develop technical documents and field instructions covering wiring diagrams, block diagrams, schematic diagrams, elevations, and step-by-step installation or maintenance guidance. Train, coach, and support customer field staff and Johnson Controls Installation/Service Teams on integrated systems and computer-based applications. Customize applications with customer IT when required by network security protocols and support configuration changes permitted by the system manufacturer. Support legacy equipment assessments and recommend upgrade or integration paths, while confirming infrastructure requirements such as cabling, power, environmental needs, conduits, and raceways. Own the quality of every solution by confirming customer intent, system compatibility, and technical accuracy before work moves forward. Stay close to the work by reviewing drawings, schematics, software, and manuals carefully, then turning that detail into clear next steps for field teams and customers. Remove obstacles early through proactive clarification, practical value engineering, and responsive support during design, start-up, commissioning, and escalation. Strengthen outcomes through direct collaboration with customer IT, Business Operations, and field personnel so that system intent, security requirements, and installation realities stay aligned. Improve every day by documenting lessons learned, refining technical guidance, and using troubleshooting feedback to drive better standards and faster resolution. Work as one team by coaching others, sharing expertise openly, and supporting diverse field perspectives to deliver a consistent customer experience.
