Position Overview

The Government Programs Policy Specialist conducts regulatory research and assists in implementing various government initiatives. The role serves as a liaison and participates in committees to provide guidance to operational needs. This position primarily operates remotely, with in-office presence as needed.

Job Description
  1. Monitor, distribute, interpret, and analyze high volumes of new laws, regulations, and guidance applicable to specific business units.
  2. Track, monitor, and assess pending legislation and regulations for potential organizational impact.
  3. Coordinate and guide departments in implementing regulatory and legislative changes.
  4. Research regulatory questions related to department processes, policies, and procedures.
  5. Respond to requests for regulatory guidance, providing clarification on new rules and directives.
  6. Develop guidance for departments on contract obligations by line of business.
  7. Support the development and review of regulatory and compliance policies and procedures.
  8. Contribute data for internal compliance and board committees.
  9. Develop workplans for regulatory requests and monitor progress.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 5 years of experience in researching, reviewing, and interpreting laws and regulations.
  • 3-5 years of Medicaid Managed Care or Managed Care SNP experience.
  • Experience working with regulators on compliance audits and reporting.
  • Project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate regulatory requirements effectively.
  • Proficiency in LexisNexis, Westlaw, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
