Job summary

Astrion is seeking a Buyer/Purchaser (ECE Support) for Redstone Arsenal, AL. The role supports RTC Test and Engineering Services, focusing on procurement of mechanical and electronic parts for test instrumentation, development, and manufacturing.

Ideal candidates will have 2+ years in procurement, strong MS Office/Excel skills, and be eligible for a Secret clearance. Duties include RFQ prep, supplier negotiations, market research, and CPSR-aligned documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of procurement or similar purchasing experience for mechanical/electronic parts in test instrumentation, development, and manufacturing.
• Strong MS Windows OS and MS Office experience, especially Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing work efforts and shifting priorities.
• Strong organizational and workflow skills.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Government security clearance (U.S. Citizen).
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
• Must have a valid driver''s license.
• High School Diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple divisions and customers as part of an enterprise team of order clerks and buyers.
• Execute, track, and expedite purchase orders and small-dollar purchases from request to close-out.
• Maintain documentation in accordance with CPSR requirements.
• Support multiple projects in a fast-changing environment.
• Prepare RFQs and evaluate responses.
• Track procurement progression and status.
• Negotiate pricing and contract terms.
• Conduct market research and document findings.
• Prepare and write price analysis justifications.
• Review and write non-competitive/sole source justifications per CPSR.
• Validate funding and budget.
• Communicate with requestors, engineering teams, customers, and suppliers.
• Maintain close working relationships with internal and external customers.
