Job summary

Florida Department of Law Enforcement is seeking a Government Operations Consultant I to coordinate the receipt, response, and tracking of customer service inquiries. You will manage inquiries, document outcomes, and maintain secure records in accordance with agency policy.

Under supervision, you will assist with reporting, analytical support for investigations, and support functions across the OIG, including fleet, purchasing, and inventory tasks. Strong data skills and teamwork are essential.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision of the Citizen Services Manager, this position is responsible for coordinating the receipt, response and tracking of customer service inquiries and correspondences to individuals and/or agencies requesting assistance from FDLE in accordance with the Florida Customer Service Standards Act and Agency policy.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  • Demonstrating the ability to research, review, and recommend appropriate action to resolve inquiries or complaints. Inquiries and complaints will be properly documented, and referral documents and correspondence will be prepared without spelling and grammatical errors;
  • Returning voice messages left on the Office of Inspector General (OIG) telephone line;
  • Managing the OIG Customer Complaint and the OIG Report Fraud email boxes;
  • Keeping the supervisor apprised of workload, complaints received and actions taken;
  • Ensuring the confidentiality of case files and case related materials by maintaining a secure database and file storage;
  • Preparing reports, provides analytical assistance and supports the overall investigative function, within the Office of Inspector General;
  • Assisting with managing the OIG fleet;
  • Assisting with OIG purchasing;
  • Assisting with OIG inventory;
  • Supporting the OIG as needed; and
  • Receiving incoming calls to the Office of Inspector General.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis;
  • Knowledge of basic management principles and practices;
  • Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow and other activities relating to the improvement of management practices;
  • Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials;
  • Ability to conduct fact finding research;
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments;
  • Ability to communicate effectively; and
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

BASE SALARY:
  • $ 42,200.08
NOTES:

Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
