This intermediate environmental position with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Office of Resilience and Coastal Protection develops and reviews standard operating procedures for sample collection, field testing, and quality assurance documentation for monitoring programs. The role ensures QA support activities are performed, evaluates the effectiveness of the Quality System, conducts audits of ORCP activities and contractors, and develops statewide QA training programs. Based in Tallahassee, the position coordinates special projects and supports the Statewide Ecosystem Assessment of Coastal and Aquatic Resources program.

Key qualifications:

• At least four years of verifiable related experience in an environmental field (or post-secondary degrees on a year-for-year basis)
• Knowledge of Florida coastal policies and environmental field sampling techniques
• Knowledge of Quality Assurance principles and data management best practices
• Ability to conduct field audits and interpret rules and regulations
• Florida Certified Contract Manager or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel
