CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Director of Legal (Government) to lead government contracts, regulatory strategy, and export control programs. You will partner with business development, program management, and executive leadership to structure, negotiate, and win government deals while guiding compliance across multiple agencies.

The role requires extensive expertise in FAR/DFARS and ITAR/EAR, with a track record advising C-suite leaders and managing complex defense programs.

Qualifications

• JD required and active license to practice law in the United States.
• 11+ years of progressive legal experience in aerospace or defense focusing on government contracting/regulatory matters.
• Deep expertise in FAR/DFARS and U.S. government procurement processes.
• Experience with export controls (ITAR/EAR) and regulatory compliance programs.
• Proven success leading contract negotiations on complex defense/government programs.
• Experience advising C-suite leaders and Boards of Directors.

Responsibilities

• Lead US government contracts, including FAR/DFARS compliance and interpretation.
• Negotiate, structure, and win government deals with BD and program teams.
• Advise on contract clauses, performance, change orders, claims, and terminations.
• Oversee export compliance programs and regulatory obligations across agencies.
• Provide guidance on licensing, approvals, and ongoing regulatory obligations.
• Build scalable government legal processes and playbooks; manage outside counsel.
