Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc is seeking an accounting professional to support billing, corporate accounting, and government contract compliance. You will handle Cost-Plus and T&M invoicing, account reconciliations, and financial reporting while collaborating with Contracts and Program Management teams.

The role offers growth into indirect rate calculations, ICS submissions, and contract closeout activities within a growing government contractor environment. Strong Excel and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of professional accounting experience, preferably in government contracting, project accounting, contract billing, public accounting, or corporate accounting.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review customer invoices for Cost-Plus, Time & Materials (T&M), and fixed-price contracts.
• Validate labor, subcontractor, and other direct costs for billing accuracy and contractual compliance.
• Perform billing reconciliations and analyze unbilled receivables.
• Support preparation of final invoices, final vouchers, and contract closeout documentation.
• Monitor contract funding limitations and assist in resolving billing discrepancies.
• Coordinate with Contracts and Program Management to ensure timely and accurate billing.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Assist with balance sheet analyses and financial statement reporting.
• Support external audits and annual financial reporting requirements.
