Job summary

BluePath Labs in Washington, DC is seeking a mid-level Communications Specialist / Writer to plan, draft, edit, and coordinate federal communications for internal or external audiences. The role emphasizes clear, accurate copy and may focus on newsletters, presentations, web content, or leadership messages.

U.S. citizenship is required; TS/SCI is preferred but not required for applying. The position is contingent on contract award with potential for government work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, English, PR, marketing, or related field.
• 3+ years professional writing/editing; 5+ years for executive/external roles.
• Ability to translate complex information into clear, audience-appropriate content.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Plan, draft, edit, and coordinate communications for internal or external audiences.
• Develop newsletters, presentations, web content, guidance, and other clear copy.
• Prepare leadership messages, talking points, or organizational-change communications as assigned.
• Support campaigns, client or industry outreach, and audience-feedback analysis as assigned.
• Translate complex information into clear, audience-appropriate content.
• Coordinate reviews, incorporate approved comments, and maintain editorial consistency.
• Apply established messaging, style, accessibility, and Government review requirements.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
