Pilot Company is seeking a Government Affairs Intern to join our team in Washington, D.C. for the summer of 2027, supporting policy analysis and stakeholder engagement across energy, retail, and transportation operations.

You will monitor federal and multi-state developments, translate policy changes for business audiences, and be mentored by experienced staff to develop practical advocacy insights.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or master's student in Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, or Government.
• Strong research, writing, and presentation development abilities.
• Experience preparing memos, policy briefs, or stakeholder presentations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support policy intelligence by monitoring federal and state developments across energy, transportation, tax, labor, and trade.
• Develop weekly updates summarizing changes, implications, and next steps for stakeholders.
• Create and maintain issue playbooks with policy backgrounds, timelines, and business impacts.
• Prepare briefing materials and meeting summaries to support internal and external engagement.
