Job summary

Anderson Recruiting + Consulting, Inc. seeks a Senior Director to lead its Government Contracting Finance Advisory & Compliance practice in the Washington, DC / Northern Virginia area.

You will drive advisory engagements, fractional CFO guidance, and stringent GovCon compliance across clients in the government contracting space. The role emphasizes strategic oversight, team mentorship, and expanding services with executive-level stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of accounting and finance experience in government contracting.
• Background as a Controller, Finance Director, CFO, or senior financial advisor.
• Strong GovCon accounting knowledge: FAR, DCAA, indirect cost structures, project accounting and contract billing.
• Experience leading accounting teams and communicating with owners and senior executives.
• Combination of technical accounting and consultative client service.
• Experience with GovCon accounting systems (Deltek Costpoint, Unanet) is a plus.
• CPA is preferred but not required.

We're partnering with a growing professional services firm seeking an experienced GovCon finance leader to lead its Government Contracting Advisory Practice. This is a terrific opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with business owners and executives, solving financial challenges, developing accounting teams, and helping government contractors grow.

We're looking for someone with strong technical accounting expertise who also enjoys the relationship side of the business. Someone who can roll up their sleeves, offer strategic guidance, and become a trusted client advisor.

What You'll Be Doing

What We're Looking For

• Strong understanding of GovCon accounting, FAR, DCAA, indirect cost structures, project accounting, and contract billing.
• Experience managing accounting teams and communicating with business owners and senior executives.
• Strong technical skills combined with a consultative, client-focused approach.
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint, Unanet, or similar GovCon accounting systems is a plus.
• Experience with outsourced accounting, managed services, or a fractional CFO role is highly desirable.
• CPA preferred, but not required.
