Job summary

Clearwater at Riverpark in Oxnard, CA is seeking a Cook to prepare high-quality meals for residents, guests, and staff, following approved menus and recipes.

The role offers excellent benefits, 401(k), paid vacation and sick leave, and opportunities to grow within a dynamic, people-first culture. Pay is $21.00-$23.00 per hour DOE, with a focus on food safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Background clearances as required by government regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all food items according to planned menus and recipes.
• Ensure meals are appetizing, nutritious, and meet dietary requests or requirements.
• Serve food at the correct temperature and chart as such.
• Ensure proper plate presentation.
• Consult with the Chef on menu changes or substitutions.
• Keep kitchen and storage areas clean and organized.
• Prepare food in accordance with governmental, sanitary, and dietitian regulations as well as policies.
• Take care of food orders in a timely manner.
• Dispose of food and waste according to policies.
• Record temperatures of refrigerators, freezers, and dishwashers.
• Ensure leftovers are stored, labeled, and dated.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas.
• May supervise dishwashers in the absence of Culinary Management.
• Prepare upcoming items to ensure stock and preparation as directed by recipes.
• Safe storage and efficient use of all kitchen inventory items.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and report issues promptly.
• Comply with Clearwater Living standards and regulations.
• Maintain professional image with proper uniform and name tag.
• Represent Clearwater Living principles daily.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
