Citarella, the Ultimate Gourmet Market, seeks a BOH Associate in New York to prepare and cook across the hot bar, salad bar, soups, coffee, and baked goods while upholding Citarella standards.

You’ll open/close bars, restock, monitor temperatures, receive deliveries, maintain logs, and support on‑floor service. Requires 1+ year kitchen experience, ability to lift 50 lbs, and a flexible Mon–Sun schedule; Spanish‑English a plus.

Qualifications

• 1+ year kitchen, prep cook, or line cook preferred.
• Fast-paced, team-oriented environment experience.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation standards.
• Comfortable using kitchen tools, ovens, slicers, and prep equipment.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Flexible schedule Monday to Sunday.
• Must adhere to Citarella’s uniform and grooming standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and maintain hot bar, salad bar, soups, coffee, and baked goods per Citarella standards.
• Bake bread daily, slice and label bread, and prepare chicken to recipes.
• Open/close bars, restock, rotate items, and monitor temperatures and freshness.
• Receive deliveries, label backstock, and maintain temperature and production logs.
• Wash and sanitize kitchen tools and equipment; uphold health regulations.
• Greet customers on the sales floor and assist with questions; support BOH/FOH teamwork.
