Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior cloud architect to lead secure Google Cloud landings zones and architecture for federal and DoD customers. You will design IAM, hybrid connectivity, Terraform modules, and CI/CD pipelines while mentoring engineers and guiding proposals.

The role emphasizes experience with GCP services (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, BigQuery, Vertex AI) and producing architecture diagrams for executive audiences in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing secure Google Cloud architectures in regulated environments.
• Strong ability to create architecture diagrams and present decisions to engineers and executives.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, containers/Kubernetes, and Git-based CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Lead the design and implementation of secure Google Cloud landing zones and resource hierarchies


• Architect solutions using Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, BigQuery, Vertex AI, and related services

• Support Google Distributed Cloud and air-gapped environments

Requirements

• 7+ years of cloud, systems, infrastructure, network, or solutions-architecture experience


• 3+ years of hands-on Google Cloud experience in production or regulated environments


• Strong knowledge of GCP services, Terraform, containers/Kubernetes, Git-based CI/CD, and hybrid networking


• Experience producing architecture diagrams and explaining decisions to engineering and executive audiences


• Active Secret clearance required


• TS/SCI eligibility preferred


• Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification or related certification preferred


• Experience with Google Distributed Cloud, multi-cloud (AWS GovCloud / Azure Government), Vertex AI/RAG, or DevSecOps controls preferred


• Washington, DC / Northern Virginia area preferred


• Ability to travel to customer sites approximately 10–25%
