Job summary

Google is seeking an experienced Apigee Architect for a fully remote contract engagement in the USA. You will own API strategy, architecture, and governance for enterprise integrations, collaborating with client stakeholders and delivery teams.

You will lead design and implementation of API management solutions on Apigee, establish standards and security practices, and drive modernization across legacy workloads while mentoring teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of API architecture and integration experience.
• Strong expertise in Google Apigee and API governance.
• Experience delivering enterprise API programs and policy development.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement API management solutions on Google Apigee (X, Hybrid, or Edge).
• Define API standards, governance frameworks, and enterprise best practices.
• Develop API proxies, shared flows, and custom policies for traffic management, security, mediation, and caching.
• Implement API security: OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, API key validation, mTLS, threat protection.
• Migrate legacy integrations to Apigee and modernize the API landscape.
• Build CI/CD pipelines for API deployments (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Maven, Terraform/Apigee CLI).
• Establish monitoring, analytics, and alerting using Apigee Analytics and Google Cloud Monitoring.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to integration development.
