Make Golf Your Career is seeking a Golf Shop Attendant to promote the game and assist members and guests with merchandise while delivering outstanding service in the pro shop.   • Knowledge of golf merchandise, apparel, and equipment.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and basic cash handling procedures.
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work in exposure to extreme temperatures and humidity.
  • Capable of sitting, standing, walking, climbing, lifting up to 100 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver customer service in the pro-shop, welcome golfers, process charges, and check in players before rounds.
  • Adhere to cash handling procedures and maintain operational standards.
  • Handle member and guest inquiries, manage tee-time bookings in person and by phone.
  • Maintain a calm, courteous demeanor to provide a superior customer experience.
  • Oversee inventory by checking in merchandise, organizing displays, maintaining stock levels, and handling returns.
  • Assist with course operations by marshaling and supporting outside services as needed.
  • Support outside golf operations staff to ensure proper daily procedures and policies.
  • Execute end-of-day functions following club guidelines and procedures.
  • Ensure daily tasks meet club standards, keep work areas tidy, and restock merchandise.
  • Provide administrative support to Head Golf Professional, GM, and Tournament Coordinators.
  • Assist others as needed and take on tasks assigned by management.
  • Follow all policies and maintain professionalism in interactions with members and staff.
  • Follow safe working practices and encourage others to do the same.
  • Take initiative for personal and professional growth and maintain required certifications.
  • Address challenges using available resources and coordinate with regional and corporate teams.
  • Attend daily briefings and participate in required activities.

Overview

The Golf Shop Attendant is responsible for promoting the game of golf and the club's offerings while delivering exceptional customer service to members and guests. The Attendant assists customers with merchandise selections, maintaining an organized and visually appealing golf shop, and providing information about club services and events. Additionally, the role supports inventory management and collaborates with the pro-shop team to ensure seamless operations and a high standard of service.

Experience Required
  • Preferred high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in customer service or retail, with a basic understanding of golf operations, equipment, and etiquette.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with members and guests.

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb ladders, squat, kneel, reach, grasp, push, pull, twist, bend, lift, carry up to 100 lbs., talk, hear, and see.
Essential Responsibilities

  • Oversee inventory management by checking in merchandise according to procedures, organizing storage and display areas, maintaining stock levels, informing customers when special orders arrive, and handling returns and credits.
  • Assist with course operations by marshaling, starting, and supporting outside services as needed.
  • Support outside golf operations staff to ensure proper execution of daily procedures and policies.
  • Execute end-of-day business functions following club guidelines and established procedures.
  • Ensure all daily tasks are completed to club standards, including maintaining orderly work areas, tidying the pro-shop and entry areas, and restocking merchandise.
  • Provide operational and administrative support to the Head Golf Professional, General Manager, and Tournament Coordinators.
  • Assist others as needed and take on additional tasks assigned by management.
  • Follow all company, club, and department policies, procedures, and instructions.
  • Maintain professionalism and a commitment to excellence in interactions with members, colleagues, and staff.
  • Follow safe working practices and encourage others to do the same.
  • Take initiative in personal and professional growth and maintain any required certifications relevant to the role.
