The Golf Mart, part of the Worldwide Golf family, is hiring a Golf Sales Associate to promote our store culture and help customers select equipment. You will use product knowledge to advise customers and demonstrate golf simulators to enhance in-store experience.

Ideal candidates have golf knowledge, strong customer service and sales skills, and comfort with merchandising. Training leads to process improvements and opportunities for growth within the company.

Job Description:

The Golf Sales Associate at The Golf Mart is responsible for promoting and maintaining a store culture that is consistent with Worldwide Golf’s values, including the “Sure No Problem” philosophy. Responsibilities include:

Maintain an awareness of all golf product knowledge, terminology, merchandise promotions, demo merchandise and sale advertisements.

Evaluate customers’ needs, apply knowledge of golf equipment features and benefits, and make recommendations on the right golf equipment for the customer.

Educate customers on our golf products and help them compare differences to make an educated decision.

Operate launch monitor and golf simulator equipment to provide customer with valuable data during in-store experience

Assist with floor moves, merchandising, and keeping the sales floor organized and clean to meet Worldwide Golf’s standards.

Research merchandise availability via computer database; requisition merchandise from the stockroom and taking inventory of stock where needed.

Once fully trained, recognize and suggest ways to improve processes.

Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

Ability to spend work time standing or moving around the store. Physical activities include bending, stooping, lifting (up to 15 pounds), carrying, walking and/or reaching on a frequent basis.

Have a working knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet, inventory, internet and order processing systems.

Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.

Qualifications Desired:

Golf knowledge/background is required

Any experience working in the golf industry is a plus (entry-level candidates will also be considered!)

The hourly rate for this position is $12.00 - $18.00 per hour plus a commission rate between 1.75% and 6% based on department and product. Individual starting rate within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
