Job summary

Worldwide Golf Shops in Houston, TX is seeking a Golf Sales Associate to help customers select the right equipment, highlight features, and promote promotions. You will operate in-store launch monitor and golf simulator data, maintain showroom, assist with merchandising, and process stock.

This role requires golf knowledge and a willingness to learn, with paid training and employee discounts. Full-time position with base pay plus commission, benefits, and growth opportunities in a leading golf

Qualifications

Golf knowledge/background is required.
Experience in the golf industry is a plus (entry-level candidates considered).
Ability to stand and perform retail tasks for long periods.

Responsibilities

Maintain knowledge of golf products, terminology, promotions, demos, and sale ads.
Evaluate customers’ needs and recommend suitable golf equipment.
Educate customers on products and help compare differences.
Operate launch monitor and golf simulator to provide data during in-store experience.
Assist with floor moves, merchandising, and keep sales floor clean.
Research merchandise availability via computer; requisition stock as needed.
Once trained, identify ways to improve processes.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job Description

Maintain an awareness of all golf product knowledge, terminology, merchandise promotions, demo merchandise and sale advertisements.

Evaluate customers’ needs, apply knowledge of golf equipment features and benefits, and make recommendations on the right golf equipment for the customer.

Educate customers on our golf products and help them compare differences to make an educated decision.

Operate launch monitor and golf simulator equipment to provide customer with valuable data during in-store experience

Assist with floor moves, merchandising, and keeping the sales floor organized and clean to meet Worldwide Golf’s standards.

Research merchandise availability via computer database; requisition merchandise from the stockroom and taking inventory of stock where needed.

Once fully trained, recognize and suggest ways to improve processes.

Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Ability to spend work time standing or moving around the store. Physical activities include bending, stooping, lifting (up to 15 pounds), carrying, walking and/or reaching on a frequent basis.

Have a working knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet, inventory, internet and order processing systems.

Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
