Job summary

The Polo Club of Boca Raton is seeking a Part Time Starter/Guest Services role to greet members, confirm tee times, and guide players to the correct tee while maintaining pace of play.

This position requires outdoor work, the ability to communicate clearly in English, and attentive observation of course conditions, with duties including maintaining tee sheets, coordinating with GPS and Ranger staff, and enforcing club policies.

Responsibilities

• Greets members and guests, confirms tee times and provides pace of play information.
• Checks in members and guests and directs them to the appropriate tee at the appropriate time.
• Marks tee sheet after checking-in players.
• Marks turn times for first nine holes and for eighteen holes; maintains turn times for all groups.
• Records fleet cart numbers and relays information to the GPS Operator.
• Coordinates with GPS Operator and Rangers on pace of play for lead groups.
• Reports open times to the Golf Center.
• Ensures group in the on-deck circle is ready to play.
• Maintains and updates tee sheets; coordinates with Golf Center and Ranger.
• Maintains beverage station and monitors driving range for dress code violations.
• Follows starting time procedures and coordinates with Starter on other shifts.
• Posts course conditions and monitors Ranger staff.
• Assists in drafting Infraction Reports and follows checklists.
• Maintains all First Aid kits for Starter’s tent and Ranger staff.
• Communicates with members, co-workers, management, and the public courteously.
• Abides by regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
• Exhibits a professional demeanor reflecting The Polo Club’s image.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the First Assistant Senior Golf Professional.
