Responsibilities

• Train service employees in assigned duties.
• Maintain golf cart repair records.

• Assist in bag number control for bins.
• Notify Golf Shop Staff when bags change in club storage.
• Ensure members and guests have an enjoyable day at the club.
• Report damaged or misused equipment to Golf Shop Staff.
• Inspect quality of work, carts, and practice balls.
• Assign daily duties and shift leader roles.
• Monitor weather conditions and inclement weather.
• Support staff during daily operations and events.

Orchid Island Golf & Beach Club is a private member-owned club, recognized as a Platinum Club of America, located in the Town of Orchid, just north of Vero Beach, and beautifully situated on 600 acres from the ocean to the river.

Orchid Island Golf & Beach Club is seeking a Golf Outside Service Assistant. You will be afforded the ideal opportunity to put your golf skills to work in a beautiful environment and friendly atmosphere, steps away from the white sand beach and the Audubon-certified golf course designed by the legend Arnold Palmer.

Outside Service Assistant Position Overview

The Outside Service Assistant provides all members and guests with Bag, Cart, Range, and on-course services. This candidate must know about the game of golf and its rules, be friendly, discreet, and courteous, and possess excellent communication skills, knowledge of and ability to perform required roles in emergencies while conducting themselves in a professional and friendly manner.

Primary Responsibilities

• Trains service employees in their assigned duties.
• Maintains proper golf cart repair records.
• Assists professional staff in tournament administration when needed.
• Assists in maintaining bag number control for bins.
• Alerts the Golf Shop Staff when members add or remove bags from club storage.
• Ensures that members and guests have an enjoyable day at the club when they visit.
• Report any damaged, broken, or misused equipment to the Golf Shop Staff as soon as possible; record the damage and by whom.
• Inspect the quality of work, club and bag carts, and practice ball cleaning.
• Assigns service employees to daily duties and shift leader.
• Is alert to the weather or approaching inclement weather.

Education, Experience, & Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Requires basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
