Job summary

Jekyll Island is seeking an enthusiastic Golf Course Operations Intern to gain hands-on experience across shop, outside operations, guest services, tournaments, and player development this summer. You will work closely with the Golf Club leadership to learn operations, merchandising, and event execution while supporting a premier coastal golf resort.

The program runs May/June 2027 with 3‑month summer and a 6‑month extended option, offering $16.00/hour, 40+ hour weeks, and housing assistance.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license.
• Currently attending a PGM Accredited University and enrolled in the PGM program.
• Passionate about golf with a commitment to excellent customer service.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Schedule availability 40+ hours per week during peak season including opening, midday, and closing shifts.
• Weekend and holiday availability

Responsibilities

• Golf Shop Operations: Answer telephones and assist guests with reservations; Check golfers in and process payments; Manage tee sheet activity; Assist with tournament registrations; Merchandise sales and customer service; Maintain golf shop appearance and organization.
• Outside Operations: Prepare and stage golf carts; Clean and organize cart fleet; Maintain driving range and practice facilities; Assist guests with bag handling and club services; Monitor first tee operations; Support pace of play efforts.
• Guest Experience: Welcome guests and provide exceptional service; Assist with directions and facility information; Address guest concerns professionally; Promote club events and program; Ensure a positive experience from arrival to departure.
• Tournament Support: Prepare scorecards and cart signs; Assist with event setup and breakdown; Manage scoring and leaderboard updates; Coordinate contests and special activities; Support sponsors and event participants.
• Instruction & Player Development: Observe lessons and clinics; Assist with junior golf programming; Help organize instructional events; Support practice facility operations.
